Rutherford Shield is a Wheatbelt Association Competition supported by Wheatbelt Cricket. Junior Associations within the Region play against each other across the season to expose the Junior Cricketers to a more competitive level of cricket, whilst representing their association. Please see the Playing Conditions & Guidelines for the younger age groups as well as the newly formed U/17 competition that will be in its first season for 2025/26.

Saturday 4th - Sunday 5th of October saw the inaugural Wheatbelt Team compete in the Belt Up Country Cup hosted in Geraldton. When the opportunity came up to nominate a team, it was a great chance to showcase our Wheatbelt Players. The team consisted of 11 players from within the Avon, Wyalkatchem, Eastern Districts and Northam Cricket Associations.
